According to a recently released report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the United States is facing an increase in diabetes cases; it is estimated that more than 29 million Americans suffer from the disorder, which is an increase of 3 million from 2010 data. Additionally, in 2012 alone, it has been estimated that over $245 billion in medical costs as well as in lost work and wages can be traced back to the disease. Being diagnosed with diabetes is not the end of the world, though, since the disorder is fully manageable with the appropriate diet and lifestyle adjustments. However, this isn’t easy for many. To illustrate, a recent Fox News article noted how many diabetes sufferers often ignore salt warnings.
